All the Road Runnin'
Fast forward. I'm in the southern part of the peachy state of Georgia as a write, after leaving Indianapolis this morning, zigzaging between Time zones. Logging twelve hours of driving. It was a good day. The good Lord kept me safe, free of too much heavy traffic, perfectly sunny sky's and a car that could drive forever, if I let it. Beautiful country through Kentucky, Tennesee and northern Georgia. I can't help but spy every old delipitaded barn or tin roofed shed and wonder of its history and how can I get my hands on some of that seasoned barn wood and rusty tin. So much treasure, so little time to stop. Crap, if I'd had time to stop, it would have been at one of the many whiskey distilleries that passed by. So I thought I'd throw out some suggestions of entertainment that made those places come alive for me as I traveled through...when your passin through the hills of Kentucky and/or Tennessee, I highly recommend "all the roadrunnin" by mark knopfler & emmylou harris. And as you are buzzing through the metropolis of Atlanta, the eagles will serve you well.
Saw a man stop his car, leave his female passenger in it and crawl under the underpass in down town Atlanta, of which I was driving and drop his drawers. I don't think he was just pissin. I had a couple of close calls myself, but...nothing that severe. Bummer.

Leaving the nest
It's the butt-crack of dawn, brewing some coffee and the only one who got up with me was Lucia, the dog. And she's already gone back to bed. There is fresh fallen snow and the shovelers are moving from house to house. What a thankless job. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate It very much, but I'm not usually awake to say thanks.
I had purchased a lock to secure my bike rack to the truck, but it won't allow me to tighten the rack enough so the bike would bounce around. So it's free for the taking. However, I secured the bike to the rack with a lock, so if the thief wants any of it, it's pretty cumbersome for one person, so he'll need a buddy. Keep your fingers crossed. I don't have a golf cart lined up yet and if I lose my bike, not sure how snowbird will get around the gated complex.
Okay now Frank, the other dog is awake and they are both staring at me, gotta feed 'm. I will see you some where between Indianapolis and Louisville. I miss my family already.

Terms of Reference
These terms may be used throughout my posts, and I would hate for you to be confused in your reading enjoyment.
Qtip: referring to an elderly person, ie; one with white fluffy hair
Pubix: my local grocery store, their bakery is phenomenal, and have "to die for Keylime Pie" it's actually called Publix, but we've always called it Pubix....sounds funnier.
Noodle: a colorful, foamy cylindrical floating device. Often used in Florida pools. Usually placed between your legs like a horseshoe when floating and engaged in conversation with other noodle users.
Conch: a large and hard to find shell. Sometimes used as an instrument.
Sunset: this is an EVENT, it occurs every evening, and involves getting in the golf kart with a full glass of wine, and driving to the Marina where the view is good. Many gather here to greet and celebrate the end of a good day. When the sun sets a Qtip blows on his Conch.
The Project: refers to the T-shirt quilt I will attempt to create for my daughter while I am away.
12 days until departure

Welcome
This is my first attempt at blogging, so keep your mind and heart open to the adventures I have to share. This journey will begin around the 29th of January, with my solo drive to the "Orange State". So come along, and be a snowbird with me, at least in spirit. Stay tuned.
